Stanford University​ and Elsevier has made the World's Top 2% Scientists for 2023. The selected scholars are: UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao; UIC Provost Prof Patrick Chau; UIC Vice President (Research and Development), Dean of Graduate School Prof Jia Weijia; Prof Shan Xiaowen of UIC Institute of Advanced Study; Acting Dean of Faculty of Business and Management, Prof Adolf K.Y. Ng; Prof Wang Qing-Guo of Department of Computer Science; Dr Xu Baojun of Department of Life Sciences; Prof Wang Tian and Dr Luo Zongwei of Department of Computer Science.

​The review results of the 2023 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects were recently announced, and six UIC teachers were awarded with project grants, including two general projects and four youth fund projects.

The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MOE) announced the winners of the 2022 National Teaching Achievement Awards, and UIC teachers as the assistant unit won the second prize, marking the first time that UIC teachers had brought home teaching awards at the national level.UIC President Prof Tang Tao, and Head of Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Di Yana completed the project "Reform and Practice of First-class Mathematics Talents Training Model".

International academic website Research.com released the Best Scientists in the World Ranking, with nine UIC scholars selected.Research.com has been publishing the rankings of leading scientists worldwide since 2022. Its rankings comprise one comprehensive list and over 20 lists covering every discipline.UIC scholars have been named in more than ten fields, including mathematics, electronics and electrical engineering, computer science, social science and humanities, biology and biochemistry and more.
